Healing With Nature

Healing is about more than addressing symptoms—it is about restoring connection. As a trauma-informed naturopathic doctor and energy medicine practitioner, I recognize that our physical health, emotional well-being, nervous system, relationships, and connection to the natural world are deeply intertwined. Many chronic health conditions are influenced not only by genetics, nutrition, or environmental exposures, but also by the ways our bodies have adapted to stress, adversity, and trauma. My goal is to provide a safe, compassionate space where healing can occur by supporting the whole person rather than focusing solely on disease.

A trauma-informed approach recognizes that trauma is not simply what has happened to us, but how our nervous system has adapted in response to overwhelming experiences. Rather than asking, "What's wrong with you?" we ask, "What has happened to you, and how has your body learned to protect you?" This perspective helps us move away from shame and self-blame while honoring the incredible wisdom and resilience of the human body. Healing becomes a process of restoring regulation, safety, and connection—not just eliminating symptoms.

One of the most powerful yet often overlooked healing resources is the natural world. The principles of Healing with Nature recognize that humans are not separate from nature—we are an expression of it. Throughout history, cultures around the world have understood that spending time in nature, engaging with the rhythms of the seasons, connecting with the land, and cultivating mindful awareness can profoundly support emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. Modern research increasingly confirms that time in nature can reduce stress, calm the nervous system, improve mood, lower inflammation, enhance immune function, and promote resilience.

Healing With Nature also acknowledges that trauma is rarely isolated to a single event. Trauma can be personal, familial, intergenerational, cultural, or collective. It can influence how we relate to ourselves, our loved ones, our communities, and the Earth itself. Rather than viewing these experiences as permanent damage or pathology, this framework sees healing as a process of reconnecting—with ourselves, with one another, and with the living world around us. As our nervous systems experience greater safety and regulation, our capacity for health, joy, creativity, and meaningful relationships naturally expands.
In my practice, Healing With Nature is thoughtfully integrated with naturopathic medicine and energy-based therapies. Depending on your individual needs, this may include mindfulness and contemplative practices in nature, somatic awareness and gentle movement, breathwork, emotional processing, energy medicine, nutritional support, botanical medicine, homeopathy, and other therapies that support the body's innate ability to heal. Every recommendation is personalized, honoring your unique experiences, health goals, and readiness for change.

This work is deeply person-centered. I believe that healing cannot be forced—it unfolds when we create the conditions that allow the body and nervous system to remember their inherent capacity for balance. Whether you are navigating chronic illness, autoimmune disease, anxiety, burnout, grief, unresolved trauma, or simply seeking greater vitality and connection, my role is to walk alongside you with compassion, curiosity, and respect for your lived experience.

Healing With Nature is also about hope. It is founded on the belief that thriving health is our birthright and that profound transformation is possible throughout every stage of life. As we reconnect with our own nature, we often discover greater resilience, deeper self-compassion, and a renewed sense of purpose. In caring for ourselves, we also strengthen our relationships, our communities, and our connection to the Earth. Healing becomes something larger than the individual—it becomes a ripple that extends across generations.

As I continue advanced certification in Healing With Nature (as taught by Rochelle Calvert, PhD, author of Healing with Nature), and also using my training with other Earth-awareness teachers, I am honored to integrate these evidence-informed, trauma-aware, and nature-centered principles into my practice. My hope is to help each person experience not only relief from symptoms, but also a deeper sense of wholeness, resilience, and belonging—within themselves, within their relationships, and within the natural world that has always been one of our greatest sources of healing.
